THE WISDOM OF THE ROAD

It was difficult to try and sum up all of what I received while we were on the road.   However, after some careful reflection and discussion with my family I found 10 pearls of wisdom that made their way into our hearts while we travelled.

  1. People will generally, if not always live up to your expectations. People will be who you expect them to be.
  2. Change is good, although not always easy. There is always a silver lining in our experiences and change can be empowering and good. Change takes you from where you are to where you need to be. Change keeps you alive.
  3. We don’t need much to live an awesome life. Simplicity is the key. Life is so full of distraction, but if we keep it simple and focus on what we love, it is glorious.
  4. There is always enough. Life is abundant. Even if things are tight and you are juggling the bare minimum, you will have enough. While we were travelling Trent’s business grew by 11%.
  5. There is no right way to be. Instead there are many paths and by having the courage to explore them, you will learn that you are indeed powerful and free to choose on which one you will travel.
  6. One moment can change your life. It takes courage and little bit of wild to venture out and find that moment. It takes letting go and the courage to seek. Life is full of opportunities to jump over the realms of our fear. You never know what lies there.
  7. We are all powerful creators of our own realities. To know what you love is the greatest gift you can ever give yourself. It takes a deep understanding of oneself and enormous courage to express it without shame or fear of judgment. After all, it’s your life to design.
  8. There are qualities in childhood that can set us free as adults. These include the desire to learn and grow, mindfulness, curiosity, a sense of adventure and fun, and imagination. Children embody these qualities and have the capacity to learn anything they want to learn. We need only step out of their way and revel in the gloriousness of their discoveries.
  9. INTEREST is the precursor to all meaningful learning. When a child is interested, learning is easy and if it is challenging it is worthwhile.
  10. TIME and SPACE amplifies creativity, ignites gratitude, breeds clarity and allows us to find the joy in living life.
